Kroger Mega Event cont.

This week Kroger's continuing their Mega Event. I had my list all narrowed down (qualified for the Event 4 times!) with matching coupons, sales, catalinas, etc.

Of course, once we got to the store, there were a couple other deals on things we needed (milk, bread, zippies) and a couple things we didn't really need but were important nonetheless (ice cream, RC).

I used the self-checkout this time as I was doing three transactions due to the catalinas and I didn't want to hold up a clerked line. It worked out just fine and I felt a little less stressed doing it that way 'cause I wasn't holding anyone up and I could take my time and count items and ensure coupons cleared. The only hassle is that the attendant has to scan in all coupons herself. So after each transaction I'd hit the coupon button and then wait for her to come, take my coupons to her station and scan them. It worked out fine, just would be nicer if I could scan my own coupons!

Here's how my transactions worked out:

Transaction #1:

(8) Progresso Traditional or Rich & Hearty Soup 18.5-19 oz @ $1.69 ea. (savings of $.27 - $.30 ea)
-- $.50/1 for Mega Event
-- CAT: Buy 8 get $3
-- $.50/2 ecoupon
-- (4) $.50/2 paper coupon (doubled) makes it $.26 ea with cat, $.63 ea without
(this catalina didn't print, so I'm experiencing their customer service for the first time. We'll see how it goes! UPDATE: apparently, this promotion only works at a few stores, and mine isn't one of them. I've asked how I can get a list of what promotions are valid for my store so we'll see!)

I also qualified for the Bonus Box Tops and won 25 free Box Tops. Since we don't have kids, I go online and add them to my in-laws school. Each coupon for 25 BTFE (Box Tops For Education) is worth $2.50 for Heritage Christian School!

Transaction #2:

(5) Nature Valley Granola Bars @ $2.49 ea (savings of $.26 ea)
-- $.50/1 for Mega Event
-- CAT: Buy 5 get $3.50
-- $.50/1 ecoupon
-- $.50/1 ecoupon .

-- $.50/1 ecoupon

-- .$75/2 ecoupon
-- (2) $.75/2 paper coupon makes it .$54 ea. after cat

(1) Old El Paso Taco Shells @ $1.49 ea (savings of $.70)
(1) Old El Paso Refried Beans @ $1.49 ea
-- $.50/1 for Mega Event
-- (1) $.60/2 ecoupon makes it $.69 ea

Cottonelle Bathroom Tissue 12 double rolls @ $5.99 (savings of $.60)
-- $.50/1 for Mega Event
-- $.50/1 paper coupon (doubled) makes it $4.49

Again, I qualified for the BTFE coupon (which is why I split my transactions this way). The site that helps me build my shopping list had the NV Granola Bars listed at $1.99 instead of $2.49 so they would've been $.14! But $.54 is still a super deal!

Transaction #3:

(1) Yoplait Delights 4-pk @ $2.29 (savings of $.50)

-- $.50/1 for Mega Event

-- $1/1 ecoupon
-- $.50/1 paper coupon (doubled) makes it FREE+

(2) Yoplait Fiber One multipack @ $2.29 (savings of $.20 ea)

-- $.50/1 for Mega Event

-- (2) $.50/1 paper coupon (doubled) makes it $.79 ea.

(3) Yoplait Yo-Plus Yogurt 4-pk @ $1.79 ea (savings of $.20 ea)

-- $.50/1 for Mega Event

-- (3) $.50/1 paper coupon (doubled) makes it $.79 ea

(8) SoBe Lifewater or Juice @ .99 ea (savings of $.50 ea)
(2) SoBe Lifewater @ $1.49 (not sure why these didn't come through at the sale price)

-- $.50/1 for Mega Event

-- $2/10 e-coupon makes it .39 ea

1% Milk @ $2.08 (savings of $.50)

Kroger Chocolate Ice Cream @ $1.19
(no savings, unless you count that I didn't buy a name brand for 3-4 times as much!)

(2) Sara Lee Whole Grain White Bread @ $1.00 ea (savings of $1.49 ea)

(2) Hefty Storage Bags (quart and gallon) @ $1.00 ea (savings of $1.69 ea)
